Marist School is a Catholic school for boys located in Marikina City, Philippines.

The school gets its name from the Marist Brothers of the Schools who run it.

Established in 1964, the school is now in its 48th year of existence and service to the Church and community, promoting quality education that is uniquely Christian, Marian and Filipino in character.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
In keeping with its philosophy of education and mission statement, Marist School aims for the total and balanced development of the physical, social, aesthetic, intellectual , moral and spiritual aspects of the individual pupils and students through the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the school.


Institutional Objectives

As an institution, the school aims

  • to be faithful to St. Marcellin Champagnat's plan for the Christian Education of youth, especially in rural areas and with particular attention to the poor;

  • to form good Christians and virtuous citizens, persons of character, learning how to live and how to make a living;

  • to help the students grow to be total persons who integrate human and Christian values;

  • to cultivate in its students respect for human values as well as a personal interest in an active social and civic participation in the world around them;

  • to do all that is possible to get the students to realize their potential and to help them acquire the knowledge, values and skills they will need for personal development and professional advancement.


Prep to Year 6 Objectives:

During the years of elementary schooling, Marist School endeavours to

  • help each pupil know one's self and appreciate one's worth as a person who in turn understands and appreciates others through the development of a repertoire of intra and interpersonal skills in interacting and reaching out to peoples of different race, religion, socio-economic status, intelligence, or talents;

  • guide each pupil to acquire good habits and understand conditions necessary for maintaining physical well-being through sports and athletic activities, proper nutrition, physical conditioning, hygiene, health and safety;

  • foster social consciousness by developing love of country through knowledge of its history, culture, ideals, and needs; concern for the welfare and dignity of fellow citizens; and respect for the law and duly constituted authorities;

  • enhance career awareness, vocational knowledge and positive attitude towards work and the dignity of labor;

  • develop critical thinking and good judgment through an education that provides opportunity for pupils to learn to use a set of standards in arriving at a decision;

  • strengthen basic ethical framework incorporating values that contribute to the establishment of a more humane society such as honesty, justice, respect, compassion and kindness;

  • provide each pupil the opportunity and encouragement to appreciate and express one's self creatively through arts and art forms such visual, literary and performing arts;

  • equip each pupil positive attitude towards the learning process and to acquire the mastery of the basic communication, scientific and mathematical skills in preparation for high school; and

  • help each pupil understand and appreciate the Catholic teachings and their application in one's daily life, in relation with the family, school community and the bigger society.


Year 7 - 10 Objectives:

During the years of secondary schooling, Marist School aims to

  • prepare the student for tertiary education through the development of the intellectual and technological skills, habits, values and attitudes necessary to help him to be a critical and creative thinker;

  • enhance in the student the ability for expression in both oral and written form;

  • develop health and physical well-being through a well-balanced athletics, sports and physical education program;

  • assist the student in growing into mature and self-disciplined individual through the different activities and learning situations making him a responsible Filipino citizen;

  • develop an understanding of himself as a member of society thereby making him conscious of his responsibility toward himself, his family, his church, his country and its ecology;

  • nurture in the student socially acceptable behavior that will help him conduct himself properly by providing him the opportunity to meet people through participation in co-curricular activities and extra-curricular activities;

  • make the student recognize his role as a citizen in Philippine society by making him aware of current issues and developments and giving him the opportunity to be of service to his fellowmen by initiating and participating in outreach and community service activities;

  • provide religious training essential for the student's understanding of his faith and guide his religious convictions to maturity by bringing into fruition the values of Christ; and

  • develop in the student a dynamic social awareness and responsibility to the needs of the needy and the deprived, in order to put into practice his Christian faith through active participation in Parish activities and social involvement in pursuit of justice and peace in the community.
