MARIST SCHOOL BAGS TWO NATIONAL DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
Marist High Impact (MHI), the high school dance club of Marist School, emerged the champion in two national dance competitions both held on March 9, 2019—the Dance Supremacy Campus Crew (High School Division) competition at the AFP Theater and the National Dance Championship (Mixed Senior Hip Hop Division) at the Mall of Asia ARENA.
An urban dance competition, the Dance Supremacy Campus Crew aims to challenge dance groups to create fresh, creative, and original dance pieces true to their own unique style.
Out of the dance crews representing nine schools—Alabat Island National High School; Assumption Antipolo; Caritas Don Bosco School; Holy Angel School of Caloocan, Inc.; Holy Family School of Quezon City, Inc.; Pasig City Science High School; Philippines Science High School; School of St. Anthony; and, Marist School—that competed in the finals of the Dance Supremacy Campus Crew, MHI was declared the champion.
On the other hand, the National Dance Championship aims to promote the beautiful art of dance through a healthy competition held throughout the country. The MHI emerged the victor from among the nine participating dance teams, which included Sindaw Karayama Dance Company; Ateneo Igknights; Faith Dance Company Rooks; SLHS-RDV; SVNHS D’ Squad; Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan “Indak”; Don Bosco D’ Scouts; and, La Salle Greenhills’s Airforce.
The Marist High Impact (MHI) team is composed of John Benedict Salazar, Jurell Balolong, Adrian Alcantara, Gabriel Dela Cruz, Kenzo Santos, Ranz Santos, Christian Atendido, Lance Rimandiman, Dave Santos, James Cabalfin, Jose Mari Yrreverre, Kyle Prudenciado, Gabriel Flores, Lyle Bahia, Alexander Mendoza and Mikael Agus.
