Students top inter-school academic contests

Marist students competed and brought home achievements in the various inter-school academic contests that took place this January 2020.

Pablo Luis Canton and Enzo Miguel Calavera, both grade school, were named as champions out of 56 schools in IT Cup 2020, an interschool quiz bee that was held at the De La Salle University last January 18.

Angel Lito Joseph Carambas and Nathaniel Jufer Barez landed in the 20th spot out 56 schools in the high school category of the said quiz bee.

Meanwhile, on January 17, Marist high school students landed first place in the elimination round of the 2020 Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge.

Grade 10 students Isaiah Leobrera, Fernando Cabuang Jr., and Duke Jairus Lubrin represented the school in the team category, while Leobrera made it to the top 2 in the individual scores.

Lastly, Marist School ended as Second Best School in Ped Xing XI: Conquering Independence which was held the University of the Philippines, Diliman last January 11 and 12.

The following high school students ranked accordingly in the following contests: Marcus Bellosillo, first place in extemporaneous speaking; Laurence Alfonso, first place in Filipino essay writing; Aaron Camposano, Mark De Leon, and Vince Dato, second place in policy making; Emmanuel Balocating, fifth place in quiz bee; and, Justin Reyes, Joaquim Gancia, Kenneth Canque, Charles Dacanay, Marcus Concina, and JM Torio, fifth place in the debate competition.

Franz Josef and Louis Andrew Malong participated in the digital poster making and English essay writing, accordingly.
