Marist opens October Devotion 2020

Marist School opened the annual celebration of October Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary with a Eucharistic celebration last October 1, 2020.

Rev. Fr. Reynante Tolentino, shrine rector and parish administrator of the Antipolo Cathedral, led the virtual mass that was streamed through Facebook Live.

The mass started with the enthronement of the replica of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in the Our Lady of Magnificat Chapel.

In his homily, Fr. Tolentino affirmed the importance of holding the said celebration in the midst of the pandemic.

Si Maria ang ina ng kagalingan dahil ang nagpapagaling ay si Hesus,” he said.

Fr. Tolentino emphasized that the Blessed Virgin has never abandoned her people.

Hindi niya tayo pinapabayaan,” he stated.

After the mass, Marist alumni from Batches 2018 and 2019 launched “Compassion in Action,” an outreach program for the benefit of the school’s Afternoon Shift Program.
