Advent 2020 in Marist School

The Advent season this year is different from all the experiences we had during the past years. The Advent themes of longing for God and waiting has a special meaning for us today because of the recent crisis that surrounds us. This year, we are given a special opportunity to grow deeper in hope and stronger in the embrace of God’s love.

As St. Paul says, we’ve each been given a gift to share with the people of God. And each gift is important to the building up of the body of Christ. As a gift, Marist School continues to give you an atmosphere of reflection, prayer opportunities, and celebrations of the Holy Eucharist. In nurturing our faith and spirituality, we invite you to practice hope during this time when hope is being challenged.

We started celebrating the Eucharist for the four Sundays of Advent. Prayer reflections are posted for the duration of the season. Daily Advent Prayers in all units and classes is shared with students and their families to keep the Family Spirit and hope among all stakeholders and partners. We will livestream Simbang Gabi as a Filipino Christmas tradition. This series of nine dawn masses will be held from December 16 -24. Midnight mass will also be held on Christmas Day. Let us together enter this season and wait in hope for how our God might reveal the length and breath, the height and depth of divine love for us.
