Marist holds Math, Science subject area celebrations; to host first eSports tourney

Marist students from grade school and high school departments continued to hone their logical skills during the Math and Science week celebrations last February 8 to 11, 2021.

With the theme, “Math and Science in Virtual World: Adapting, Connecting, and Exploring towards Responsible Learning,” grade school students engaged in activities such as trivia games, inter-section UltiMathe quiz bee, and poster making.

Additionally, Grade 1 students had a Math Dance, while Grade 6 students participated in a show and tell about safety practices related to gravity or fiction.

Meanwhile, high school students took part in math-related activities in line with theme “Moving Forward: Mathematics Learning in the Era of COVID (Collaborative Virtual Diversion).”

An online version of the student-favorite Guesstimate was held, as well as trivia games and infographics-making. Also, selected Grade 10 students competed in a virtual UltiMathe quiz bee.

In line with the high school celebration, the STEM United organization will be hosting Marist School’s very first eSports tournament on February 19 and 20. Teams from senior high school and the afternoon shift will be competing.

The said tournament is organized in partnership with the Marist organizations MOBS x Technovation, Blue & Gold, and Media Critics.
