Circular from the School Principal: April 26, 2021

Dear Marist Parents and Guardians:

May God’s peace be with you and your families!

May 3 of this year is indeed a red-letter day for the entire Marist School Family as we join our School President Br. Allan de Castro, FMS in celebrating his birthday and the gift of his sacred life.

Observing the Brother President’s Day in a very meaningful way during this trying time, the Marist Family intends to participate in the ongoing community pantry organized by St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish by raising money to be donated to the parish on behalf of our school president.

Launched on April 21 by the parish located at Marikina Heights, the community pantry is aptly named Gab’s Pantry and is intended to reach out to over 200 families who are in need the most. The parish is currently accepting donations of food and cash to sustain the program. It is in this connection that we humbly seek your kind help and generosity by donating any amount that you can give and contribute to this humanitarian endeavor.

For your cash donations, kindly send it thru GCash [Br. Demosthenes Calabria, FMS – 0916 243 5786]. The school will be accepting cash donations until April 30 (Friday) and will be handing over all the collected amount to the parish on May 2 (Sunday)—the actual birthday of our Brother President.

Serving as liaison team between the school and the parish are one of our senior high school organizations, Kamalayan; its moderator, Mr. Achilles Louis Nano; and, our Community Outreach In-charge, Br. Demosthenes Calabria, FMS. The team’s initiative to reach out to the needy by making a significant contribution to Gab’s Pantry and Br. Allan’s personal birthday wish of organizing or donating to a community pantry became the inspiration for our meaningful celebration of Brother President’s Day.

In addition, we would like to cordially invite you and your families to join the entire Marist School Community for a Eucharistic Celebration on May 3 (Monday) at 11 AM. The Mass is offered for Brother President’s intention and is streamed live thru the Marist School Marikina FB account.

As one Marist Family whose core is rooted in the Gospel values of Communion and Service, we celebrate God’s gift of Br. Allan’s life and respond to the call of helping the ‘least favored’ and journeying in solidarity with them during this pandemic time.

Thank you so much. Ad Jesum per Mariam!

Sincerely,

John Benjamin C. Balatbat
School Principal
